Marble polishing and restoration
Etch marks, traffic lanes and lost shine are not the end of a marble floor. We grind, hone and polish the stone itself — no coatings, no waxes — until it reflects light the way it did the day it was laid.
Marble is calcium carbonate, which makes it beautiful and vulnerable in equal measure. Anything acidic — citrus, wine, cleaning sprays — dissolves a little of the surface on contact and leaves the dull etch marks a rag can’t remove. Foot traffic adds fine scratches that scatter light, and over the years a floor that once read as one continuous sheet of stone turns cloudy and gray. In Miami condos and lobbies, the fine sand tracked in year-round only speeds that wear.
Restoration reverses that mechanically. Working wet with diamond abrasives, we cut below the damage, then step through finer and finer grits until the surface is optically flat. The deeper the shine you want, the finer we go — a soft honed matte, a satin glow, or a full mirror polish. We finish with a penetrating sealer that slows the next etch without changing how the stone looks or feels.
Etch and stain removal
Acid etching and embedded stains come out first. We cut the surface back to sound stone — the only honest fix for etch marks — and treat organic staining with poultices where the marble allows.
Diamond honing
Wet honing with progressively finer diamonds flattens scratches and lippage and brings the floor back to one true plane. This is where the clarity of the final finish is decided.
Polishing and sealing
The final polish is tuned to the finish you want, from honed matte to mirror gloss, then locked in with a penetrating sealer that keeps daily spills at the surface where they can be wiped away.
