Stone restoration in Coconut Grove
The Grove has been building on its own limestone since before Miami was a city. Oolite walls, coral rock steps, cottage floors from the twenties and glass condos over the sailboats: the neighborhood mixes more stone eras than anywhere else we work.
Native rock, handled gently
Grove garden walls, steps and fireplaces are often cut from the oolite the neighborhood sits on. It is soft, porous and easily ruined by pressure washing or the wrong sealer. We clean and protect it with methods made for the material.
The canopy’s price
The tree cover that defines the Grove keeps everything under it damp. Patios, walkways and shaded terraces grow mildew, moss and black film year round. We clean without scarring the stone and seal so the regrowth slows.
Cottages and village homes
From the Village West blocks to the lanes off Main Highway, older Grove houses keep terrazzo and early tile under decades of renovations. We uncover, repair and polish them at the small scale those houses ask for.
New towers over the harbor
The Grove’s new condos came finished in pale marble that South Florida life tests daily. We hone out etching, polish to spec and set up unit and common-area programs with building management.
